Woeful west London rivalry hardly pulsating
OH, it's the west London derby.
The meeting between Fulham and Chelsea doesn't exactly send tingling waves of electricity down your spine, does it?
I don't think much of any of the west London derbies – QPR, Brentford, these two – and it's far too civil for my liking. At this stage of a rant like this I'd usually compare it to the Old Firm clash or El Clasico, but even doing that feels laughable.
It's the cucumber sandwich of derbies: boring, bland and wet, but loved by posh people.
Anyway, to say Chelsea have had the rub of the green under Roberto Di Matteo would be an understatement and although the Cottagers are a bit erratic for my liking, I'm willing to chance them at the prices.
If Clint Dempsey finds the net on Monday I'll give it the big fist-pump and shout the house down.
Someone's got to show some passion.
