There are things worse than a two-goal lead

Mrs B is getting used to the thought that the football season is coming to an end, although I haven't got the heart to tell her that it's only about three weeks until the Euros get going.

She doesn't offer many opinions on football as she is often in the other room, watching some soap or other, but there is always one piece of wisdom she offers and it is relevant with Tuesday's League One play-off between Huddersfield and MK Dons.

'You know,' she says. 'Two-nil, that's the worse lead in football.'

I've half a mind to enquire whether the BBC or ITV want to take her to Poland and Ukraine with such insight.

But of course, it's rubbish. A two-goal lead is twice as good as a one-goal lead.

And you only remember the times when a team doesn't hold on, just like no-one recalls the planes that don't crash and the ships that don't sink.

MK Dons lost 2-0 at home on Saturday and I can't see them getting through to Wembley. It's too much to ask.

And it will give me great pleasure to inform Mrs B that, once again, she doesn't know what she's talking about.
