BILLY BUNTER

Weblog: The football punter

The big kick-off's almost here and I still haven't made up my mind

IT'S like my A-levels all over again. I've just left everything until the last minute.

In two days schoolchildren from Warsaw will be dancing around the pitch at Poland's national stadium before their game against Greece and, if I'm not careful, I'll still not know what I'm going to be betting on.

The antepost markets have just left me baffled so I'm going to be looking at the matches and taking it from there.

It's all come at a good time to do some research because Mrs B has been tuned in watching all the jubilee stuff so I've been able to escape.

If she even thinks about complaining that there is too much football on the telly over the next few weeks after watching three days of flag waving then there's going to be problems in our house before the month is out.

So that's what it's about at the moment. Cramming. Getting to grips with those goals tables and finding out a bit about some of the players who will be shining on our screens for the rest of June.

It's going to be fun. I just can't wait for it to get going.
