Spurs and QPR look the way to a relaxed weekend
Chelsea's defeat in Leverkusen piled more pressure both on my overdraft and on Blues boss Andre Villas Boas who is now among the frontrunners in the managerial sack race.
Everyone talks of the dreaded 'vote of confidence' usually signalling an imminent sacking and if that's the case then under-fire Blackburn manager Steve Kean must be worried that his board have gone a step further and handed him a contract 'revision'.
I haven't got a clue what that actually means but the fact that Venky's have gone out of their way to state that it isn't an extension can't be a good sign for Kean.
One manager who isn't under pressure is, to my mind, English football's sorest loser Neil Warnock. Hopefully I'm not the only one who has found it disturbing over these last couple of weeks watching the QPR boss laughing, joking and praising referees in his post-match interviews.
QPR have climbed into the top half of the Premier League thanks torecent wins against Chelsea - who had two men sent off - and Stoke, who could well have been awarded two penalties.
Unsurprisingly Warnock has been glowing in his assessment of the officials' performances.
No doubt normal service will soon be resumed next time a 50-50 decision doesn't go his way.
No doubt normal service will soon be resumed next time a 50-50 decision doesn't go his way.
But hopefully that wont happen this week as I strongly fancy QPR to get the business done against Norwich at Carrow Road.
On current form I make Tottenham the second best team in the country - although that might just be because they didn't have the chance to let me down in Europe this week - and I make them my weekend bankers to beat West Brom.
