Lack of choice the only reason I'm watching Brighton and Leeds
YOU have to wonder what goes through the brains of these television bigwigs who decide which games are going to be scheduled on the box. With all due respect, the idea of watching the live game between Brighton and Leeds on Friday doesn’t really float my boat considering both have already been on Sky this week getting knocked out of the Carling Cup.
This will be the 11th time Leeds have played this season and it is the fifth game to be shown live. Don’t get me wrong, I will happily watch Barcelona and Lionel Messi every week but I draw the line at being forced to watch Andy Keogh on repeat.
Interestingly, Leeds have conceded ten goals in their four live games this season (okay I know it isn’t that interesting but I am struggling here) and if you are going to watch the game and gagging for a punt then Brighton are the bet.
My initial plan was to have a night watching the German Bundesliga on ESPN. However, Stuttgart v Hamburg has scandalously been overlooked for some rugby union kick-and-clap between Sale Sharks and Northampton Saints.
I assume Northampton are called the Saints because you need the patience of one to sit through a full match of that egg-chasing nonsense. I have seen bits of the World Cup and it’s so boring I have been left pining for a return to the normal ITV scheduling of Daybreak, Lorraine and Jeremy Kyle.
So it’s Brighton v Leeds or nothing as far as the footy goes and I personally think I will go for something that is not on our screens quite as regularly as the mighty Whites. Yep, for me it is Coronation Street, Eastenders and Big Brother…
