BILLY BUNTER

Weblog: The football punter

It's goodbye Drogba and hello Bognor

WELL, that didn't quite go to plan.

When I reflect on this season I suspect that relentlessly opposing Chelsea in Europe will feature quite prominently on the list ofmy regrets.

I'd love to say I've learned my lesson but I'm convinced that if I continue to take on over-the-hill sides riding their luck with too much player power, an interfering owner and a rookie manager then eventually I'll make some money. Eventually.

Gary Neville's bizarre Champions League final punditry showed how quickly you can go from hero to zero in football, even if you're in the commentary box, and I'm convinced that my bank account will move upwards from zero soon enough. I'm sure I'll dig out some football to keep me occupied this summer.

For the time being I'm off for a short break and after Chelsea's success, I imagine you can probably guess that my destination is more Butlins than Bahamas.

Goodbye Drogba, hello Bognor.
