I can make a profit out of awful 3pm Saturday card
REMEMBER when we used to have a full coupon to select from on a Saturday afternoon.
Well fast-forward to now and we have just three matches kicking off in the Premier League at 3pm and what a treat they are – Aston Villa v West Brom, Bolton v Sunderland and Newcastle v Wigan.
If ever you needed to have a punt to liven things up then this is it, and so I will offer you the best way to profit from possibly the worst afternoon this beautiful sport can offer.
I fancy West Brom to cause an upset the Midlands derby under Woy.
They may not be a great side but nor are Villa and if you look at the Soccerbase stats for the match-by-match games you will see Alex McLeish's men are dominated in nearly every clash.
Newcastle should be far too strong for Wigan at St James's Park. People keep telling me Roberto Martinezis a great manager and yet every time I see Wigan they are lightweight and pretty rubbish.
The Toon Army are getting behind their side and playing well under Alan Pardew, who has led his team to an unbeaten start despite having the handicap of Leon Best and Shola Ameobi being part of the Magpies squad.
Lastly, get on Bolton to beat Sunderland, who are going nowhere under Steve Bruce.
Actually, scrap that they are going somewhere fast under Bruceand that's the Championship.
