Das Boot can hopefully kick family into touch

SOMETIMES games are too exciting to need any hype and Manchester City-Tottenham and Arsenal-Manchester United should put on a great show on Sunday.

It’s time to send the wife and kids off to the cinema – five quid
should cover it, shouldn’t it? – and immerse yourself in some
top-quality top-flight football.

Of course, betting is a crucial part of the Super Sunday experience and I’m veering towards a Spurs win at the prices.

Yes, City have won all ten of their home games in the league but they’ve suffered home defeats to United and Liverpool in cup games recently and Vincent Kompany and Yaya Toure are big outs for the leaders.

Don’t be surprised to see Emmanuel Adebayor – on loan from City and so ineligible for this game – rushing down from the stands for a trademark celebratory knee-slide if Tottenham do the business.

There’s not much between Arsenal and United man-for-man – Thierry Henry is doubtful so Charlie Nicholas could start up front for the Gunners – but I’ve got a sneaking suspicion that the visitors could nick this one. Arsenal’s defence was up to its old tricks against Swansea last time out and United could take advantage.

Now I just need to find a film that’ll keep the family occupied for
five precious hours. Let’s hope Das Boot is still on at the local
Odeon.
