Capello's safe hands are a cause for celebration

C’MON Cazza, no need for silliness.

There’s nothing embarrassing about the fact that the passport of the bloke who coaches the England football team wasn’t printed in Peterborough.

Or at least there isn’t as long as England qualify for Euro 2012.

You’ve read the news, haven’t you?

Jamie Carragher’s hadanother pop at the notion that the England team has a foreigner in charge which is a bit rich from a player whose proud English club side is owned by an American and managed by a Scot.

The world is one, big global happy family, Jamie.

Embrace that concept.

Look at the England cricket team.

Run bya bloke from Zimbabwe, filled with half of South Africa.

Who’s wearing the Three Lions on his shirt with pride in Auckland this weekend?

Manu Tuilagi.

I’m no egg-chasing expert but I’m long odds he wasn’t born in Cheam.

Sorry Jamie, but embarrassing was having Steve McClaren in charge.

So long as we qualify for major finals our gaffer can come from Planet Zark for all I care – though in fairness we’ve already tried one manager from there and he failed to get us to the ’94 World Cup.

The fact is that England will qualify by winning in Montenegro and I have no doubts they’ll dot up with something in hand.

Sure, England will flop at some point next summer when the world and his wife will go through the usual biennial summons for Harry Redknapp.

But for now, celebrate the fact that England are in safe hands with Capello in charge.

And even safer hands for not having Jamie Carragher in defence.
