Blues will shut out Genk and forget Bridge boycott
SOME Chelsea fans are boycotting their team's Champions League game against Genk, which leaves me with mixed feelings.
I don't think anyone would argue that £40 is cracking value to watch a footy match and I'd obviously love to see cheaper tickets.
But fans who aren't lucky enough to have their team play in the the Champions League would love to stump up that cash for a game in Europe's top competition, regardless of the opposition.
Don't forget, you can end up paying 40 quid to go to one of Leyton Orient's League One games this season.
They're the ones who should be protesting.
Plus, don't you get a free plastic flag for your money at Stamford Bridge to help create 'atmosphere'?
It isn't much more than a round on the King's Road these days anyway, and if you didn't complain when yourclub spent £50m on one player, you can't whinge when you have to chip in for his hefty wages.
That said, even Orient fans would probably be angry if proceeds from their ticket sales went to Fernando Torres.
Despite probably having the misfiring Torres leading the line, I can't see Chelsea struggling in this.
I'm not convinced the Blues are going to spank Genk, but fancy them to win to nil.
Jelle Vossen is the dangerman for the Belgians but I don't see him causing any wobbles among the powerful Chelsea defence.
The visitors like to attack but with key defenders out they may have to go against their instincts to avoid a thrashing and I expect it toend up around 2 or 3-0.
Go on, moaning Chelsea fans, have seven quid on 3-0 and you might be able to afford the next game.
