Black Country Messi can ease Easter confusion
THIS Easter lark is madness isn’t it?
At Christmas everyone knows the drill but there are so many different rules with Easter which seems to change as regularly as this ruddy weather.
Why does the date of Easter change every year? What is the connection with bunnies and eggs when rabbits don’t even lay eggs? There’s so many questions and so few answers - a bit like me if I ever went on Mastermind.
Actually, if I went on Mastermind I would be just like Barcelona - no not brilliant - just pass, pass, pass...
Thankfully Mrs B has sorted out the eating arrangements - it’s fish on the Friday, hot cross buns Saturday, chocolate eggs on the Sunday and Nando’s on Monday - so at least I know I am sticking to the religious side of things religiously and hopefully the gambling gods can be kind to me on this busy few days of punting.
The safest bet on Saturday is for Stoke to beat Wolves. I know every day feels the same over the Bank Holiday but this Wolves back four hasn’t known what day of the week it is for months and the Potters have to be the cornerstone of all multiple bets.
The rest of the Premier League card looks trickier than a IKEA instruction manual and I think my best bet comes in backing Walsall to bag all three points against Chesterfield, who won the JPT but will be playing League Two football again next season.
Walsall already have one lower-league legend, Jimmy Walker, in the squad and now they have another in Emmanuel Ledesma.
The Black Country Messi has been running rings around League One defences for the past few weeks and has resurrected the Saddlers’ safety ambitions almost single-handedly.
Happy Easter.
